96%! and Some health issues

Please check out my ticker above: 96% of my debt is gone!

Come March 5th, it will be at 97%...

On May 5th, the debt will be gone, gone, gone and I will be doing the happy dance, if my feet are healed by then that is...

Yesterday I went to have my eyes checked and the doctor told me that everything was fine. She told me not to use my glasses while I read and that I did not need reading glasses as long as I can read without my glasses. Fine by me!

I then went to an orthopedist and he ordered some blood work and X-rays and told me that I had Plantar Fasciitis and heel spurs which explained my feet pain. I will be taking a pill for 10 days and will be using some kind of a cream for 6 weeks. I will then go back to see the doctor. If the problem persists, he will resort to other types of treatments. He told me to take it easy and rest my feet most of the time. You should have seen my mom's face when I told her that the doctor told me to rest. She already thinks I am too lazy:)

  1. LOL I have to laugh because thats a mom thing. Sunday my mom asked me why I was "just sitting" on the sofa. I am glad you went to the doctors though..now invest in good shoes. I wear danskos they aren't the prettiest shoes(well some are) but between the hospital and my second job they are the best shoes around. Plus they have great support.

And as for glasses I need mine to walk to the bathroom..I am blind as a bat

    1. I checked out Dansko but they are not sold anywhere in Europe. I can order them from Amazon or Cabela's. Do you use the clogs or athletic shoes or the moccasins? I wear a US size 9. I am wondering if I should I order a half size up or my size? What is your experience sizewise? These are expensive shoes but they look sturdy to me. Are they?

  2. They are extremely sturdy and last forever. They are also very comfortable. They take a day or two to get used to but after that your legs, knee and back will thank you. I order mine from Zappos but I find that they are pretty true to size. I do take them to the cobbler every year or two and he puts new inserts in them and shines them up for me and check the soles which makes them last forever. I have three pairs I bounce between and I have had 2 of them for 4 years and one for 2 and they are still going strong. I have the clogs, the closed work shoe and a pair of the mary jane type looking ones(I work in a hospital so they are the acceptable ones). My sister worked in a factory for years and wore the athletic shoe one and swore by them.

If you can order from zappos check there since they usually have the best prices plus if they don't fit they will let you exchange them and send another pair right away.

    1. Bummer! Zappos do not ship overseas. I will check the Amazon site but before that I will try to see what kind of orthopedic shoes I can find at stores around me.
